how to create a folder

i have a question on creating a folder in php

do i have to use mkdir() function? if yes, how i use it?

because it does't work with me

if you are having trouble make sure that open_basedir is not set in your php.ini file and maybe safe_mode too (can't remeber what that does but I do remember it can be significant).

other wise post the errors from teh script.

You need to make sure you have write permissions in the folder you are creating the new folder in using mkdir().

By default, the mode is 0777 (widest possible access).

The mode parameter consists of four numbers:

    * The first number is always zero
    * The second number specifies permissions for the owner
    * The third number specifies permissions for the owner's user group
    * The fourth number specifies permissions for everybody else

Possible values (to set multiple permissions, add up the following numbers):

    * 1 = execute permissions
    * 2 = write permissions
    * 4 = read permissions
