jagguy
Hi,I have a php, mysql application that I want hosted on a website instead of my PC.It is a image/video applaication that allows storage of photos/videos and organization . It is for larger storage of photos and share video over the net eg for relatives overseas.I am with phpnet.us but this only has file upload limits of 2M and no php zip file commands work on it.I will only need about 200 mb size and large file upload eg for 1-2 larger videos, php5/mysql enabled. Is there a free web hosting around that can do this because I have looked but nearly all frown on image storage and have file limits.(I can show people what I have done if this interests them eg it is like you tube but flv add-on isn't completed) Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/33435-website-hosting/ Share on other sites

chronister
Although not free (I have not found a free site that I liked yet) 1&1 hosting has packages for as little as $3 per month. They are a really good host too from my experience thus far. http://1and1.comThey got a special... $1.50 per month for the 1st 6 months, and then 2.99 after that. You get... * 1 domain name * 5 GB web space * 500 e-mail accounts * 250 GB traffic * and moreYou might try looking for a cheap one as opposed to free because all the free ones suck royally. They all have limits or banner advertising, or other restrictions. You probably won't find the above features in a free package.Nate Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/33435-website-hosting/#findComment-156525 Share on other sites

bradgoet
Avoid 1and1 like the plague >:(. I have had a horrible time with them over the past year. Try hostmysite.com :). They aren't free but they are very good. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/33435-website-hosting/#findComment-156532 Share on other sites
chronister
bradgoet Please enlighten me.. I use 1and1, and would like to know why you feel so strongly against them.I have not had a problem, but that don't mean they are a "good" host.. So please share why they are so badThanks,Nate Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/33435-website-hosting/#findComment-156534 Share on other sites

chronister
You can't, is what he means, is that some hosting companies will allow you to have a "local" php.ini file which is local to your site and resides in your directory, but is still on their serverNate Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/33435-website-hosting/#findComment-156965 Share on other sites
