anatak Posted February 14, 2006 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Hello,I am trying to input japanese text into a mysql database.I use Phpmyadmin to copy paste japanese text in the database.I copy into a TEXT field. No matter what charset I try to use the text comes back as gibberish.In another table I have text fields with mixed english and japanese text.this text field is filled by a php script that writes the php string into the database.with this text field I do not have the problem.Does anybody know how to input japanese text directly into the db ?I am getting more confused by the minute here.thank youanatak Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/3423-solved-japanese-text/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
fenway Posted February 14, 2006 Share Posted February 14, 2006 It's all a matter of whether or not the input terminal supports non-ASCII characters, how how PHPMyAdmin deals with the TEXT field.
