rantsh
I had started this thread here http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php/topic,124617.msg516615.html#msg516615 But know I feel foolish as I notice that you can't reply there. So I'll put it simple, what's your price? how much do you charge for a script, site or hour of hard coding?... I'm just wondering what the right price is to freelance. I will interact and give my set my own price later on the discussion... PS: Mods please move this topic to proper place if you feel this is not where it belongs... thx
Jessica
I guess this could go in Misc, or Polls? I start at $30/hourly. I know a few people who start at $60, but I think mine is about average for my area and my level of experience. Depending on the type of job, I will do a flat rate, such as I got approached by a few people for larger projects, and quoted one $3k, based on the amount of time I thought it would take. It will take you a while to figure out what works for you. It depends on how much you think your time is worth. But when you find yourself working too much and not making anything...raise your price! If you can't get any work, maybe your fee is too high for your quality of work, etc.
HuggieBear
If I put in a tender for freelance jobs on here, I put them in at £10 GBP per hour (approx $20 USD) but that's because it's normally only script fixes or tweaks. If I'm creating a member management system, or shopping cart, that sort of thing, then I charge based on the project as a whole.
