Datediff SQL syntax

hello.

I'm trying to work out the SQL (or PHP & SQL) to check whether a timestamp has been updated in the last 5 minutes. please help.

Can try this

$now = strtotime("NOW");
$past5 = strtotime("now -5 minutes");

$sql = "SELECT * FROM table WHERE timestamp BETWEEN '$past5' AND '$now'";
?>

nope, didn't work.

 

I'm trying this code too, but it's not working either...

NOW() produces an integer that is equal to the number of seconds since the epoch (some where around 1970ish).  You should be able to accomplish what you want simply subtracting the number of seconds in 5 minutes from NOW()...

 

SELECT * FROM member WHERE online BETWEEN(NOW() AND (NOW() - 300))
