success/failure of email delivery

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me in finding how to check for success/failure of email delivery?

To check if an email was sent succesfully you could use:

$mesg = "Message to be sent";

    echo 'Email succesfully sent';

    echo 'Could not send email.';

I'm not sure how to check if the email was recieved if thats what you meant.

The only way you can be sure the user received it is by requesting a confirmation by that user or by storing the message in a mysql database and sending them an e-mail that says come get your message. When they come to the site have it send you a message that says user received their message. I don't know what you are specifically trying to do, but these are just the thoughts that spring to mind.
