monkeymade Posted April 14, 2007 Share Posted April 14, 2007 This may already be posted here, bare with me, I have been working on this all day. OK, I have a long application form for a modeling photographer. It asks a few questions at a time, and then moves them on to the next section. The last section has them enter a photo. What I want to do, is get the photo onto the server (done) Send the photo to the owner in an email attachment with the rest of their info (got everything except the attachment part) Then delete the photo (I know how to do this) IF (mail($mailto1,$subject,$body, "FROM: $mailfrom\r\nReply-to: $mailfrom")) That is the way I am sending the mail. Of course above it all the parts are defined. What needs to be added to this to have the image sent with it as an attachment. thank you for your time! jakebur01 Posted April 14, 2007 Share Posted April 14, 2007 <?php // Read POST request params into global vars $to = $_POST['to']; $from = $_POST['from']; $subject = $_POST['subject']; $message = $_POST['message']; // Obtain file upload vars $fileatt = $_FILES['fileatt']['tmp_name']; $fileatt_type = $_FILES['fileatt']['type']; $fileatt_name = $_FILES['fileatt']['name']; $headers = "From: $from"; if (is_uploaded_file($fileatt)) { // Read the file to be attached ('rb' = read binary) $file = fopen($fileatt,'rb'); $data = fread($file,filesize($fileatt)); fclose($file); // Generate a boundary string $semi_rand = md5(time()); $mime_boundary = "==Multipart_Boundary_x{$semi_rand}x"; // Add the headers for a file attachment $headers .= "\nMIME-Version: 1.0\n" . "Content-Type: multipart/mixed;\n" . " boundary=\"{$mime_boundary}\""; // Add a multipart boundary above the plain message $message = "This is a multi-part message in MIME format.\n\n" . "--{$mime_boundary}\n" . "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=\"iso-8859-1\"\n" . "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit\n\n" . $message . "\n\n"; // Base64 encode the file data $data = chunk_split(base64_encode($data)); // Add file attachment to the message $message .= "--{$mime_boundary}\n" . "Content-Type: {$fileatt_type};\n" . " name=\"{$fileatt_name}\"\n" . "Content-Disposition: attachment;\n" . " filename=\"{$fileatt_name}\"\n" . "Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64\n\n" . $data . "\n\n" . "--{$mime_boundary}--\n"; } // Send the message $ok = @mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers); if ($ok) { echo "<p>Mail sent! Yay PHP!</p>"; } else { echo "<p>Mail could not be sent. Sorry!</p>"; } ?> And that's how we send emails with file attachments in PHP! mattcairns Posted April 14, 2007 Share Posted April 14, 2007 There are also some great classes made to send emails. I would recommend XPertMailer. You can find it here http://xpertmailer.sourceforge.net/DOCUMENTATION. Get version 2, then your process would look something like this. **Edit: You will want to upload these four php files to your server (func.php, mime.php, pop3.php, smtp.php) require_once '/path/smtp.php'; // CREATE NEW EMAIL $mail = new SMTP; // SET TO $mail->AddTo('[email protected]', 'Name'); // SET FROM $mail->From('[email protected]', 'My Name'); // CREATE MESSAGE $mail->Text('Your email body here'); // OR IF YOU WANT YOU CAN DO AN HTML MESSAGE OR BOTH // $mail->Html('<b>HTML MESSAGE HERE</b>'); // ADD ATTACHMENT $mail->AttachFile('/path/test.txt'); // YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY OF THESE AS YOU NEED FOR MULTIPLE ATTACHMENTS // FINALLY THE SEND $sent = $mail->Send('Your Subject Here'); // JUST FOR VALIDATION IF YOU NEED IT echo $sent ? 'ok' : 'error'; Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/46960-php-mail-with-attachment/#findComment-229062 Share on other sites More sharing options...
neel_basu Posted April 14, 2007 Share Posted April 14, 2007 Absolute Solution <?php //Sending Mails With Extra Headers Simply By Using Headers Arrays include_once('zigmoyd/config.php'); include_once('zigmoyd/mail/mail.php'); include_once('zigmoyd/done.php'); $ext["Cc"] = "demo1@localhost, demo2@localhost"; $ext["Bcc"] = "postmaster@localhost, admin@localhost"; $ext["attach"] = "atch.txt,test.wav"; $mail = new mail("admin@localhost", "Mail Subject", "Mail Body", $ext); if(!$mail->send()) { echo "Mail Not Sent Succfully\n"; print_r($mail->error);//Print The Errors } else { echo "Mail Sent Successfully\n"; } http://zigmoyd.sourceforge.net/man/mail.php Please Read The Installation instruction first Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/46960-php-mail-with-attachment/#findComment-229091 Share on other sites More sharing options...
