[SOLVED] images as anchors in firefox and opera

Not sure why this happens, maybe someone here knows.  When I use an image as an anchor and try to put a border or background with padding, doesn't form around the entire image.

see the example of what I mean here http://www.multimedia-technologies.com/clientsites/melissaburnos/gallery.php

You can see the grey border/background only around the bottom of the image.  looks fine in IE.  Any idea why this happens?

I had tried that. The same exact display showed with a padding/background color and border.  I ended up fixing it by setting the a tag to display:block and the img tag as well.  If the image tag doesn't have display block, then there is a gap at the bottom.
