Very confusing question. Examples of usage are as follows:

 

$insert = "INSERT INTO table_name (col1, col2) VALUES('val1', 'val2');";
$seelct = "SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE col1 = 'someval';";
$update = "UPDATE table_name SET col1 = 'myval' WHERE col1 = 'someval';";
