Can't reply or post PMs

I found this topic:

which explained to me why I can't send PMs. But why can't I reply to POSTS? To get 10 posts I need to make 10 new topics instead of 10 new posts. That can't be right I guess..?

where are you trying to reply?

there are a few boards where nobody can reply, one of them being the Freelance board, another being the "FAQ/Code Snippet Repository". If it's a freelance question, send the person a message directly.

You should be able to post in any thread within the forums. Unless you are trying to reply to a locked topic/topic in the freelancing board/forum which doesn't accept posts from normal members.]

 

If you get a PM then you won't be able to reply to that PM, until you get 10 posts (not topics), although topics can count as posts (I think).

Okay, thanks. I was trying to reply in the freelance board.

 

wildteen, what I mean was that I had to make 10 threads instead of just replying to exisiting threads to get my count up to 10

 

So then I need 10 posts to be able to contact a person with an offer there?

basically, yes - tho most/many posters there publish their email address either on the advert or within their profile.
