The right way to code tabular data is to use appropriate HTML, i.e. table, tr, td etc. Do NOT use tables for layout. Do use tables for tabular data - it's logical, it's rational. it's accessible, it's semantically correct, and it's simple. "Lists". You can really do remarkable things with all types of lists (ul, ol and dl).
