[SOLVED] innerHTML textarea not working?

Hi everyone,

 

I am trying to update my <textarea id='txtcomments'></textarea>

 

document.getElementById("txtcomments").innerHTML = "xyz";

 

In firefox it works fine but in IE although it updates but at the same time showing error message on status bar saying 'unknown runtime error'.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

i'm pretty sure that you set the text area's value like any other form element:

 

document.getElementById("txtcomments").value = "xyz";
