Fruity_12
Hi I only used apache for a couple month. I was just woundering if it is possible to get access_log to show ip and macaddress of all visitors? Or any other smart way to find that out without getting log-files that get 10+ new lines every second.
Daniel0
It does already show the IP address, but there is no way it can display the mac address. The only reason why the server knows the IP address of the user is because the user tells the server. The user needs to do that so the server knows where to send the requested data. trq
You can also change the format of your log entries by setting up custom logs using the LogFormat directive within httpd.conf. However, as Daniel0 has explained, there is no way of getting a users mac address.
