I have a function to check wether a user is logged in or not and if they are not logged in it dies which is a problem becuase the rest of the page is not displayed.

Is there a way of stopping the rest of the content within that div without killing the rest of the page?

Here is the function

function is_authed_user()
{
     // Check if the encrypted username is the same
     // as the unencrypted one, if it is, it hasn't been changed
     if (isset($_SESSION['username']) && (md5($_SESSION['username']) == $_SESSION['encrypted_name']))
     {
          return true;
     }
     else
     {
          return false;
     }
}

and I call the function like this at the top of the div with the restricted content

<?php
    if (!is_authed_user())
    {
         die ('You are not permitted to view this page, <a href="../index.php">click here</a> to go back.');
    }
?>
