Guernica Posted October 2, 2007 Share Posted October 2, 2007 I was wondering, how can I get a pop-up to come up for my Google Ads, when a button is clicked. For my input I know it is something like <input onClick="javascript:something"> blahblah... But I am not sure what I need to do so that it generates it to MY google ads and it puts it towards a click on my ads. I know there is a js file that the google ads loads but I am not sure what I need to do possibly in the header or the input field itself. Thanks! mainewoods Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 I don't think google allows that one, google adsense doesn't allow much and in fact they might actually cancel your google adsense account for life for doing it(it happens more than you might think), so be careful and read your adsense tos carefully before trying anything! AdSense code may not be altered, nor may standard ad behavior be manipulated in any way that is not explicitly permitted by Google. Sites showing Google ads may not contain pop-ups or pop-unders that interfere with site navigation, change user preferences, or initiate downloads. Any AdSense code must be pasted directly into webpages without modification. AdSense participants are not allowed to alter any portion of the code or change the behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads. For instance, clicks on Google ads may not result in a new browser window being launched. A site or third party cannot display our ads, search box, search results, or referral buttons as a result of the actions of any software application such as a toolbar. No AdSense code may be integrated into a software application. **Webpages containing AdSense code may not be loaded by any software that can trigger pop-ups, redirect users to unwanted websites, modify browser settings, or otherwise interfere with site navigation. It is your responsibility to ensure that no ad network or affiliate uses such methods to direct traffic to pages that contain your AdSense code. Referral offerings must be made without any obligation or requirement to end users. Publishers may not solicit email addresses from users in conjunction with AdSense referral units. Publishers using online advertising to drive traffic to pages showing Google ads must comply with the spirit of Google's Landing Page Quality Guidelines. For instance, if you advertise for sites participating in the AdSense program, the advertising should not be deceptive to users. I got that near the bottom of this page: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48182 --note in the above the item I marked with '**'. It appears to explicitly ban adsense ads loaded into popup pages. Be very careful how you use adsense on your site, google will suddenly cancel your account forever with no prior warning - I've seen it happen before! Ignorance of googles policies regarding allowed and disallowed usage of adsense accounts will count zero in your favor. Read the policies in the link above throughly so you don't make a mistake. The #1 rule you should know about your new adsense account - do not ever click on your own adsense ads. If you are actually interested in the ads yourself adsense has a way to do that without generating invalid clicks - read the doc. Clicks on the ads and where they come from are being monitored continuously by google software and by the people actually paying for the ads.
