Function problems..

I have seperate functions to call the header and the footer..

 

function p_head()
{
echo '
<table border="1">
<tr><td>Header</td></tr>
<tr>
</td>
<table>
<tr>
<td>';
}

 

This is the footer:

 

function p_foot()
{
echo '
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<tr><td>Footer</td></tr>
</table>';
}

 

Now I insert content in between on seperate pages. The content is called into the nested table. However it seems that the table close early and neither the content nor the footer have a border around, or are not effected by the attributes..

 

What could be the problem?
