dkirk
I have been using Crimson editor for the last year and a half and it does pretty good but I was interested to see what everyone is using and if there is a "better" free text editor out there for PHP??? Ell20
Do any of these editors automatically align your code for you? I have done some C++ programming before and there was a button you could use to align the braces correctly for you, however im using dreamweaver to code PHP and havent managed to find a way to do that. Cheers Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/75785-best-free-php-text-editor/#findComment-383571 Share on other sites

Cheers Or you could just align it yourself. Dreamweaver has a built in function which keeps the tabbing, so when you press enter it keep the amount of tabs from the edge of the document you've got, but that's the closest you get. It's not too hard to indent your code manually. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/75785-best-free-php-text-editor/#findComment-383574 Share on other sites

pocobueno1388
Yeah, I think what Dragen said is about as close as you can get. It's nice when it keeps the indention for you, that way you don't have to press tab every time you hit return, and it keeps it super easy to keep your code indented yourself. If for some reason your code ends up messy, you can use the link in my sig called "Code Beautifier".
