Do any of these editors automatically align your code for you?

I have done some C++ programming before and there was a button you could use to align the braces correctly for you, however im using dreamweaver to code PHP and havent managed to find a way to do that.

Cheers

Or you could just align it yourself. Dreamweaver has a built in function which keeps the tabbing, so when you press enter it keep the amount of tabs from the edge of the document you've got, but that's the closest you get.

It's not too hard to indent your code manually.

Yeah, I think what Dragen said is about as close as you can get. It's nice when it keeps the indention for you, that way you don't have to press tab every time you hit return, and it keeps it super easy to keep your code indented yourself.

If for some reason your code ends up messy, you can use the link in my sig called "Code Beautifier".

Notepad how sick.  I use a free PHPdesigner 2005 the latest 2007 is not free

phpDesigner 2007 Professional  - Single Perpetual License  €39 EUR

you can still get 2005 from

http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Web_Authoring/Automated_Web_Publishing_Tools/PHP_Designer_2005.html

Desmond

The download isn't available from there, it just loads the URL http://www.mpsoftware.dk/php.exe which doesn't exist.

Here's a link for PHP Designer 2005 3.0.6 which I've read was still free.

ftp://ftp.aji.lt/pub/PHP_HTML/phpdesigner_setup.exe
