likwidmonster
Hi, I, am using a linux sub-domain! Is it possible to have a forum?
trq
The web applications you install on your server have little to do with the operating system, but to answer your question, yes.
dotservant.com
Check with the web host if you have PHP and MySQL support, and if you do, then you are likely able setup PHP MySQL forum board in your subdomain hosting account, you can consider phpbb, smf, vbulletin etc. forum program. likwidmonster
Is there any way to make a forum by not actually installing it but just dragging it on? Since I ,am using a sub-domain and I can't use MySQL which I probably need for every forum.

If you don't have access to a DBMS your going to have a hard time with any forum software, though you could develope your own using a flat file backend, I wouldn't recommend it. likwidmonster
umm... I have a linux sub-domain and I can't install a forum software!
trq
Umm, A subdomain is an address pointing to a server. Your going to need to make an attempt at asking a question. Explain what it is you want to do, and what exactly the trouble is.
lupld
Sounds like you want to just put files on the server to make it work, but most forums save all threads and private messages, etc in the MySQL database, so without that, you're about out of options. I can't remember what it's called but simple machines has a nice free forum that you can just upload and edit a config file with. OH yeah, SMF 2.somthing... but like I said, unless you find one that saves all the data to a file or something, you need mysql for a forum.
