  1. Yes.
  2. Calm down there sparky, I was saying that is what my post was for, not yours. I know we've tried things like the karma/reputation ideas before, and I could see how something like this could be useful. But... on the rumor mill the site is gunna be worked on soon, so maybe it's already in the works?
  3. Nothing wrong with bumping up your post count, after all this is what this post is achieving
  4. They might have a 302 redirect to the www.domain while others have a 302 to .domain, and the ones that don't - whichever google rates higher I believe.
  5. I don't think we'll have another .com crash like we did years ago. Even though it is possible, I just don't see it happening.
  6. Are you sure they are backticks ( ` ) and not quotes ( ‘ - ‘ ) instead of apostrophes? If you're copy/pasting into the html file that can some times carry over.
  7. Typically JS obfuscation (as with most) with change the variable names and the function names. With JS, I've found obfuscating (or even base64 encoding) can cause errors and typically isn't worth the trouble. Minifying is about as far as I go, even with files for work. For minifying (which can slightly obfuscate a quick read) I typically use http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/compressor/ (or online variants)
  8. As PaulRyan stated, most people learn client side before sever side. However, I think it is perfectly OK to learn html, css, then php and then javascript. Javascript isn't essential to the site's functionality like html/css. It simply adds interaction/animation.
  9. Sorry, but by placing it in the wrong section purposefully is the jerk move to do, because it wastes others times by misleading them.
  10. My password is password. You'll never forget it!
  11. I typically do 150 - 250 depending on the type of site.
  12. I've picked up Yii recently and have enjoyed how easy it has been to work with. The only drawback I've found... documentation isn't as good as some others, but I've found it to be decent.
  13. Yeah, I've found it extremely useful. It basically gives a blanket contract, that covers a wide variety of things, but it breaks down each section so that you can "plug 'n play" different parts into your own. Enjoy!
  14. I typically use variations of ones found in: Legal guide to web & software development
  15. Frameworks are great for a few different reasons - rapid prototyping of an idea, help keeping that motivation of clean & reusable code going, etc etc. Remember, you don't have to use a framework at all. If you do decide to use one, there is no right or wrong answer on which framework to use. Each one has its pros and cons, and you need to decide which fits your task at hand best. A great resource to compare the features of each framework can be found at http://www.phpframeworks.com/
  16. Welcome back!
  17. Thanks I envy your 6 screens (I could use more lol) And yeah, I've maxed out on CPU/RAM before in Adobe After Effects when rendering content.

  22. Why not use something like Adobe Air?
  23. Well... it might help if you told us more info like what board software you were using. Also, typically these kinds of questions can be found in the FAQ with your forum software
