If you posted a link to a live site (google 'free web hosting' if you don't have a server) and stated your problem, I would be a lot more likely to go through it to help. I can't tell you how much it pisses me off when some web designer tries to start a "web designing company" and barely knows how to code clean CSS. I don't want to sound to rash, but you don't understand how powerful CSS. Only 9 months ago I was in your shoes yelling at the computer screen because I didn't know what the hell was going on, but as I began to practice and learn, I realized that CSS is god. dbrimlow Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 TheFilmGod comes off a little too harsh, but his advice is sound and he's right ... your layout is a cross-browser mess. In IE6 it almost works; in Modern browsers, however, it is totally broken. I recommend finding some working templates for css and reverse engineering them to learn how they work. It would take too long to explain what is wrong with your layout. But don't get discouraged. CSS takes time to master and can be frustrating, but it is an amazing tool. Must read books: 1. Eric Meyer on CSS: Mastering the Language of Web Design 2. Dan Cederholm - Bulletproof Web Design: Improving flexibility and protecting against worst-case scenarios with XHTML and CSS And a book EVERY person who creates websites MUST have and read: 1.
