It's easier (personal opinion) to type php.net/function_name into your address bar. That's assuming you know the name of the function you are after. Even if you get it slightly wrong it'll give you some hints as to what you might have meant.

That's kind of you, but I doubt there is someone left who hasn't used the manual. Anyway, the manual index is the best way to start learning by topics.
