selbekk
most of the pages I post on this site are really new versions of my web page. well, this is the latest evolution, and I'm going for a quite simple design. Just wanted some feedback on the initial design and layout. [a href=\"http://www.teamsorry.com/latest\" target=\"_blank\"]link[/a]I'm not completely happy with the front page yet, I think the dark gray area needs something to spice it up before you roll over. any ideas? I've also not come up with anything nice for the h2 headers (like the "hip hop" one). What do you think I should do there?also, I'm only finished with the "hip hop" page, so you might wanna check that also. the rest of the site will be something similar.thanks in advance. I hope for good and constructive criticism, like I know you are able of producing ;) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/12776-new-personal-page/ Share on other sites

steviewdr
Why are you showing 3 grey divs when the webpage loads up? It doesnt look too appealing. It might seem like a great idea with the a:hover/mouseover etc. but it isn't visually appealing.Your HipHop page is ok - a little plain - but works.Like - an idea for your home page - have the 3 pictures faded out with opacity etc. and on mouseover/hover have the opacity go to 0. A person would see a nice image and on mouseover/hover it would come into full colour.-steve Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/12776-new-personal-page/#findComment-49740 Share on other sites
selbekk
good idea. now where can I read up about opacity? thanks :) any other views? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/12776-new-personal-page/#findComment-49778 Share on other sites
steviewdr
This is your page:[a href=\"http://www.mandarindesign.com/opacity.html\" target=\"_blank\"]http://www.mandarindesign.com/opacity.html[/a]Note that Opacity doesnt work for Opera!. Im not sure about Opera 9 (which looks sweet)You could do it via image roll overs - but they'd be WAY too image intensive.Best of Luck,-steve Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/12776-new-personal-page/#findComment-49815 Share on other sites
selbekk
alright, after some nice copy pasting and all, I got things looking a bit better :) what do you think now? jcombs_31
Looks pretty terrible to me. At first glance it looks like you have two big images on the screen. It is not at all obvious that your three opaque images are actually supposed to be a menu. I don't really have anything posative to say about it. I'd say re-think the whole concept. Even if I knew right away the images are a menu, it still doesn't work, not for me at least. selbekk
alright.. what if I labeled each and every one of them? I agree it's a bit unclear at the moment. I'm still just experimenting a bit, so all advice would be appreciated Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/12776-new-personal-page/#findComment-50258 Share on other sites
