royrogers
I'm an old dog trying to learn new tricks. I wanna learn how to write php and mysql code from the ground up. Can anyone recommend a true start from scratch guide for someone who knows nothing about writing code? I alredy have "PHP & MySQL for Dummies" but the writer assumes that I know a lot going in.....I don't. ??? Maq
Try tizag.com or w3schools.com. They are both great websites to learn the basics and will teach you the correct way to do things. You should also try some of the tutorials on phpfreaks. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/129876-newbie/#findComment-673305 Share on other sites
Chicken Little
Spend some time in the computer section of your local bookstore going over books on php and mysql. I would recommend a beginners' tutorial book, one that has an easy to follow approach and an application that would produce the end result you want (or something you can hack/modify). This forum is a great resource to see what others are doing and errors they encounter. And don't give up - even a blind dog gets lucky in a meat shed.
