The Little Guy
I have seen homemade MP3 players and I would like to try an make my own for kicks and giggles. I was hoping that someone might know where I could get parts to build my MP3 player? aximbigfan
If you don't know where to get the parts, I can assure you you will not find this at all easy, and most likely, imposable. Chris You can find parts easily online. There are not too many different types. Capacitors, resistors, diodes, wires. While this project isnt impossible it would be rather hard. Maybe this will help you http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/19/how-to-make-your-own-mp3-player/ Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/140247-homemade-mp3-player/#findComment-733879 Share on other sites
aximbigfan
I figured he was saying building it from scratch. Just soldering a kit together is easy, if you know how to solder. corbin
Uh..... You do realize how impossible that is going to be for you, yes? If you're posting here trying to figure out where to start, don't even try. Unless of course, by 'parts' you meant premade chips, in which case you would just be soldering. But, you already said you don't want to do that. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/140247-homemade-mp3-player/#findComment-734526 Share on other sites
The Little Guy
yeah premade chips, but not a premade kit. I don't want to go and buy a kit that has everything, and you read some instructions (connect "A" to "B") because that just takes the fun out of it. dclamp
Well this would be the wrong forum to ask how. Your going to need to know how to do VERY low level programming. For the average person, yes this is close to impossible. corbin
Do you want to buy chips that are made to be an MP3 player, or just chips that are capable of being tweaked into being an MP3 player? .josh
If you are just starting out and don't know what you're doing, what do you expect to do that wouldn't be included in a beginner's kit anyways? Buy parts individually and read some tutorial online? In essence, it's the same thing, except with a prefab kit, you're guaranteed not to accidentally buy the wrong parts, due to not knowing what you're doing. shlumph
I don't know why everyone's busting this kids balls. I didn't know anything about PHP before I learned it. Obviously you have to start somewhere... I think it'd be a great learning experience, even if it takes him months... aximbigfan
You don't up an build an MP3 player from scratch without any experience. The kid is only going to get frustrated. Get a kit! Learn to solder! Chris Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/140247-homemade-mp3-player/#findComment-735057 Share on other sites
