The Little Guy
OMG This is like a huge step from IE7 From what I have seen so far in my first 1 min of using it. My page renders like it does in Firefox! All my CSS works! it is awesome! The Little Guy
Why would this be spam? I don't spam, I am just informing everyone about the new IE8. But maybe I am behind, as in it is not new? Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/142277-ie8/#findComment-745364 Share on other sites
.josh
You are promoting a product and providing a link to the site. Sure looks like spamming to me.... edit: err...I mean advertising, not spam. My bad. Kinda same thing. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/142277-ie8/#findComment-745366 Share on other sites

.josh
Oh really? You aren't promoting IE8? OMG This is like a huge step from IE7 From what I have seen so far in my first 1 min of using it. Implying improvement. A better product. My page renders like it does in Firefox! Product comparison. All my CSS works! Detailing functionality, in an enthusiastic manner, to boot. it is awesome! The Little Guy
Wouldn't you be happy too if you didn't have to do as much work making your site look good in IE and FF? With IE8 my site renders 90+ percent the same as it does in Firefox, unlike IE7 where it was less than 90% (those percentages are guesstimates obviously). Mchl
Well. Just installed it. It still fails on my ExtJS-based GUI... No improvement here. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/142277-ie8/#findComment-745390 Share on other sites
nrg_alpha
IE is certainly improving. I just got my XP laptop fixed (thus installed IE 8 Beta 2 and Chrome).. Nice to be able to test site pages in browsers other than Firefox or Opera (on my Win 2000 based PC) and not rely on browsershots. IE's performance still 'isn't there' yet however... I would love nothing more than to see IE either a) switch over to webkit, or b) die (neither is likely unfortunately). But so long as I have my Chrome, Firefox and Opera, it's all good. aeonsky
I was kind of surprised Windows 7 came with IE8. I can definitely say its an improvement, pages render nicely and its faster too. And no random crashes! XD I still have to test if it passes the Acid tests.
