makeshift_theory
What do you think of the design, I went for simplicity and familiarity:http://www.chriswillarddesign.com/pandora/index.html Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/15251-my-upcoming-cms/ Share on other sites
cmgmyr
Looks pretty good so far, you should work on your logo a little more. I think that it would look a little better with a lighter blue and less of the shadows. Also if the user has javascript disabled you should have a <noscript> notification showing them how to turn it on.-Chris Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/15251-my-upcoming-cms/#findComment-61628 Share on other sites
makeshift_theory
Thanks, I'm not much of a javascript programmer so I am unaware of some of the code, such as the <noscript> tag lol. I do agree that the logo needs work, however graphic design is not my forte, programming is =P. moberemk
Out of curiosity, does your CMS use Smarty or some similar template system? And also, just a tip-you should really have it create valid code by default. That's one of the things that I look for in a good CMS. steelmanronald06
It looks really clean. When I clicked a link I expected the content area to reload without the entire page reloading. You can do this with AJAX. Slap up some AJAX and then it will be a clean, smooth, transtiition when people click links ;) If you need help, check out ajaxfreaks.com Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/15251-my-upcoming-cms/#findComment-62054 Share on other sites
steviewdr
Looks nice.A few things.Have some Navigation groups CLOSED by Default. Also for the Head/Title of the Navigation - the text should be a <a href> and not just the icon. Also when opening and closing the navigation, the icons do not always appear. Also - on the right - I would like to see something to take away teh white. It just ends abruptly.-steve Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/15251-my-upcoming-cms/#findComment-62836 Share on other sites
makeshift_theory
I agree on the white, right now I'm working on the code. My template output will be meet w3c standards as well as support for css only layouts which a lot of cms's have trouble with, like Mambo.
