Drop down menu columns not aligning correctly in IE6

Greetings from Australia.

I was wondering whether you would be able to suggest how to fix a problem with IE6.

My website drop down menu does not work correctly in IE6.

It is OK in IE7 and FF 3.0 and others.

The horizontal menu appears on every page once past the welcome screen.

The drop down menu does not stay in three columns in the given area when the mouse goes over the horizontal menu items.

I have progressively diminishing the margin and padding values, but the presentation of the 'menu subject' content is starting to suffer in 'normal' browsers.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A copy of the css file is HERE

In another file (h_menu.php), the widths of the 3 columns in the 'menu area' are individually defined;

eg. class='menuSlideTop' style='width:170px;'

ALSO in this file, is some code for IE6. This may be the problem, as I inherited this code from someone else.

A copy of the menu's php file is HERE

A copy of a page with the horizontal menu is  HERE

A live link HERE

The page does not work properly in IE6.

17% of my visitors use IE 6

Thanks,

Eddy

Alright, I was looking at the site on IE5-7/Opera/FF.. and the menu was going crazy for me. I would click a link, and the main would change, but a sec later it would switch.

Thanks for your reply.

Did the menu 'go crazy' on every page or just the first (preamble) page ?

Why are you hacking your code to work with IE6 when you websites states:

If you are using Internet Explorer 6 - you will not have pages displaying correctly in your browser. Please upgrade

Thanks for replying.

The OP was back on 21st April 09.

After reading comments/suggestions and possible fixes (that do not seem to work) since then, I added the above cited quote on April 26th.
