JonnoTheDev
Around here, a lot of company intranets are written in Java. There's definitely a demand. Yeah, the statement before is rubbish. A friend of mine develops apps that are rolled out across all councils in the UK. They tie into websites and all kinds. All done with Java. Adam
I'd have to agree too. The place I work have recently taken on 2 contract Java developers to write the site's search engine (as it has to integrate with MS Dynamics)! We also have Java servlets for a lot of B2B stuff. cags
[ot] nice. I also remember writing code on my Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128k. It think this was the first time I experienced computer programming. Everyone loves this program. 10 PRINT "Hello World" 20 GOTO 10 I remember when I was probably about 12 typing in 6 pages of code from a magazine just to see a crappy little flag wave on my Spectrum ZX.[/ot] Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/184614-what-language-to-learn/page/2/#findComment-975445 Share on other sites
MadTechie
I remember on my Amstrad 464 Plus, I sat up all night writing code from the back of the book, (i didn't even know how to save it) and ran it, and got an error on line 10, that was something like this 10: 'This is a Game I wrote 10: `This is a Game but couldn't workout the problem, so I cried myself to sleep. Alex
Given the choice I'd choose Java, primarily because if taught correctly you should learn a great deal about OOP.
