abazoskib
i have a machine running centos 5 and i want to setup an smtp server. i am on a broadband connection with a linksys router, and im pretty sure ill need to purchase some kind of smtp relay service. i will be hosting the web client on a godaddy hosting plan, so it is not local to the machine. all these conditions have made it hard for me to figure out how to start going about this little project. could anyone point me in the right direction? andrewgauger
http://www.linuxhelpzone.com/how-to-install-sendmail-in-centos-5.html You'd be better served in a linux forum, or preferably a user group because sendmail is not easy to set up. If you are hosting the client on a hosted machine, they are going to need to query your server for every page, so there would be no performace gain for doing the hosting remote. It might be better to get a vps set up with sendmail--again I bet you'd be better served in a user group--are there any meetings in your region?
