SEO title and keywords

Hey All,

 

I currently have my HTML title tag limited to 120 characters and my meta keywords to 200 characters.

 

Are these good sizes for SEO (Google, Yahoo etc) and best practice?

Wrong forum, but yes, the limits are reasonable. I think Google crops it off at 60 characters for the title, and about 150 and 200 for the keywords.

Yes it is good.

 

As long as you keep your Title to 60 characters (or under), google will read it. Also, in your title, do NOT use  -    as that signifies a break. Instead, use a | and you want to use keywords in your title. For example, one that we have written recently looks like this:

Yes it's a good practice. Although your title can be of any length, Google will only read 60 character.

I think the HTML title tags and meta tags are of reasonable count for you. The best practice is to have more keywords up to 200.

Following things to take care about <meta> and SEO

 

1. Only four keywords you can use like Software development of India, PHP freelancer in India, PHP developer in Pune... so these are keywords

 

2. Title tag has no limitations but it will consider 72 chars in title tag, because when you search anything, result display with 72 characters(including whitespace)

I agree...best SEO practices are:

 

meta description: 155 characters

meta keywords: no more than 10 (hard to find a clear answer on this one)

title: 70 characters

Google doesnt actually take keywords into account.

Just title, description and page content.

 

However its still used by some engines.

I was told Google only cares about the first 65 chars of the title text. It will simply truncate the rest.
