tendouser
How to restrict access to the internet just to the websites or domains I set? Any software for free or like Kaspersky Internet Security? Thanks for comments!
lastkarrde
Is this in some proxy software? Or are you trying to block web requests (from curl etc.) from being issued?
tendouser
My boss at the office to block all websites not related with the company's task in all PC's.
cssfreakie
you can set up up under windows a parental control. that way you can limit the websites with a blacklist or a whitelist procedure. Did your boss also knows that studies showed that people are more productive if they are infact allowed to do other not work related things at work? like playing a small game in a break or reading a newspaper. Glad I don't work there!
Pikachu2000
That would best handled with a firewall/filter/router in an office environment. I can't imagine having to reconfigure parental controls on every PC every time a site needs to be added or removed from the list.
tendouser
Windows XP + SP3? How to set a parental control? IE8? I know how but I mean a firewall software like Kaspersky with the password protected option.
Pikachu2000
No, I mean with an actual hardware appliance, not with software on the PCs.
tendouser
Not many computers (2). Any freeware?
JonnoTheDev
I would get a cheap PC with MS Windows. Install some free proxy software on it i.e http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Servers/Proxy-Servers/FreeProxy.shtml On each of the PC's on your network point the gateway IP address at the IP address of the proxy machine. You can then whitelist the websites that you want to allow through the proxy software. Any more PC's you add to the network require no additional configuration.
