Free SSL Certificates

Anyone have recent experience?

I've used startcom in the past, but they have recently had some issues and google and mozilla no longer trust them (https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2016/10/24/distrusting-new-wosign-and-startcom-certificates/).

Looking for alternatives.  Below are a couple that I found.

I use SSL for free. Simple and fast setup. I can create a new SSL Virtual host in about 2 minutes.

Which way to you use?  Thanks

  • Automatic FTP Verification
  • Manual Verification
  • Manual Verification (DNS)

Is an acme client used?  Can it be used on a headless machine?

Where do you get a free SSL? It has to be signed by a trusted third-party to avoid being blocked by browsers and blacklisted from the search engines, right?
