jbeitler
I am new to PHP and do not really have any knowledge on it. One of our sites uses PHP and because of a recent security issue, PHP recommends upgrading to 7.2.24. Can someone please guide me in how to do this? I can't find much helpful stuff on how to do an upgrade. I also am unsure of what downloads to use from the PHP site. (We use Windows Server 2021 R2) Thanks Edited November 12, 2019 by jbeitler Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/309521-upgrading-php-from-727-to-7224/ Share on other sites
requinix
Windows? Go to windows.php.net and read the instructions on the left. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/309521-upgrading-php-from-727-to-7224/#findComment-1571525 Share on other sites
jbeitler
The most helpful info I saw on that page is "What version do I use?" as pertaining to TS or NTS. OK- so now I know that, what's next. I have never done anything with PHP before Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/309521-upgrading-php-from-727-to-7224/#findComment-1571527 Share on other sites
requinix
You should contact your site administrator to do this. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/309521-upgrading-php-from-727-to-7224/#findComment-1571530 Share on other sites

requinix
If you're the admin then hopefully you remember when you first set up PHP, right? jbeitler
No, I'm sorry to be blunt but why would I be asking how to upgrade if I did an upgrade before. I said I had no php experience. I came into a job few months ago and now php needs upgraded on one of the sites I administer. requinix
Well you're going to need to take a crash course in learning your site's PHP and server configuration. Because if you attempt this upgrade and aren't aware of something important the site needs, you'll crash it. You need to know what configuration changes have been made from the base and what extensions are enabled.
