Adamhumbug
Hi All, I have a user table where people will be creating a password. There is so much out there on what is the best way to do this but i wanted to get your feelings on what is the most up to date way to hash passwords that i am going to store. Is it salt or is that out dated now? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/317249-current-password-hashing-standard/ Share on other sites

webdeveloper123
I'm pretty sure that Salt is an extra layer of protection for password_hash, not a method in it self Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/317249-current-password-hashing-standard/#findComment-1611612 Share on other sites

Including salting. Don't do anything extra. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/317249-current-password-hashing-standard/#findComment-1611618 Share on other sites
