Accessing contents from a drive outside public html in Windows Server

Is it possible to access the contents in a drive outside public html in windows server? Can I just give the absolute path like .. "D://xyz/abc/" ?
Please help to solve this issue.  :)

try it - see what happens - I very much doubt it though - there will be a few permissions issue somewhere along the line.

oh..We don't have database. We just need to access a file and read information from that file.

No one said anything about a database, I think you confused a signature for a post.

TRY IT and see what happens was the advice given.

Hi,

I am getting the result as directory doesn't exists. My code resides in a protected directory and I am accessing to a drive in the web server.

If anybody knows how to access the same, plz help.

You cannot do this, at least in terms of accessing a mapped network drive. You can set up a system or file DSN or some other connector (if it was a database like ODBC) if your accessing a particular file but you cannot list a directory in a non web server area of your server, Windows will throw a wobbly.
