nick1
Greetings, I am considering earning some type of web development certification and was wondering if anyone could recommend a particular program, such as the Certified Web Professional Program or World Organization of Web Masters program. I'm looking for a quality program that is widely known and whose graduates are sought after in industry. Thanks, Nick
utexas_pjm
I would reccommend the Zend PHP Certification and the MySQL Developer Certification. Best, Patrick
dustinnoe
Actually, the thing that would help you more would be a heafty portfolio. Do some donations for non profits with the agreement that they will supply a reference. If I was hiring a web developer I would much rather see past work that a piece of paper that says you can do it. Just a thought and my opinion on certifications. They are great but worthless without a porfolio. This is all assuming you don't have a portfolio, if so go with what utexas_pjm suggested. jcombs_31
I don't understand why anyone would want a 'web' certification.

Jessica
Yeah, I'm getting the Zend PHP Cert just to do it for myself. Plus it's practically the cheapest certification you can get. My husband is studying for one which will cost him several thousand dollars. If I can spend $200 to prove to myself I could do it, that's good for me
