littlepeg
Hi, everybody. I just finished my first website. However, would you please suggest me what should I do if I want my website achieve high search frequencies and a high listing position? My website does include meta tags, but when I search in google, we cannot be found. Thank you very much. Any help would be appreciated. :) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/68726-search-engine-rating/ Share on other sites
TheFilmGod
You should first make sure google has indexed your page. This takes time. Make sure your site is somewhere linked on another webpage. Meta tags aren't enough. A good title <title></title> is necessary. Have good keywords, finally make sure you have a lot of webpages that link to you. ToonMariner
Google are thinking of removing syndication links from there algorithm.... There are all manner of things that can help... title tags, meta (not so much these days) and page content shoudl be relevant to one another. URL's - if you can use friendly urls that can help too (friendly urls). Link text and the page it links too also - pages with a title that matches the text in a link to that page are good. Landing pages - if you have a page called 'sport' then everytime the word 'sport' appears in the content of a page have it link to the sport page itself. Wikipedia is the most SEO'd site I can think of - it seems to have a decent ranking for LOADS of search terms in google. these links may prove helpful. http://www.phoenixrealm.com/category/search-engine-optimisation/on-page-seo/ http://www.twotreesdesign.co.uk/news.php?nID=2 Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/68726-search-engine-rating/#findComment-345854 Share on other sites
