So I put in proper Meta information for each page and all the pages have proper urls (such as root.com/page.shtml) Also, I put in a site map for the search engines. (xml format) Now what do I need to do to get better search popularity? I have waited about a week and still no progress in stats. Is there anything I can do to get better search engine ratings? Thanks Here's what works for me. First meta tags are not that importent any more so I'm told so what is ? here a list in order of importance; 1. Discover your best keywords 2. Try and get a domain that includes those keywords as close to the front as possible. 3. Have your site title start with those keywords. 4. Try and gain incoming links from sites that also use those keywords. 5. Make sure your front page includes decent content on those keywords. 6. Add external links to high scoring site that use those keywords. 7. Make sure your code is valid, all tags are filled and content is fill formated.
