  1. absolutes are a no-no.

    especaailly on comercial sites.

    DONT USE THEM.

what happens if you position the thrid column at say... 912 l ?  if you have 800x600 you cant se it, if you have 640x480 you cant see it... if you have 320x240 you cant see it, if you have 1024.768 its cut off.

Absolute does not wrap to the browser, so I prefer to use releative positioning to the users right hand side of the screen :D  I used a js "user screen resolution" script to find this pixel out (normally 691 for 800x600 users)

  2. well I only had suse fuss about hte mouse in vmware, but all linux ditsos running under MVPC don't work.  Pretty simple.  They run find and boot find but if you don't start with those above things, it doenst capture your mouse pointer.  so your mouse can move, in yoru host os but in the guest os it doents know you HAVE a mouse.  Damn M$ (MicroShit)

  3. its a very expesive service.  but it is well worht it and any half decent host gets this service.

I host myself and offer hosting.  If only we had some more money, me might get the service.

  4. I am using wamp, and php stopped working (wamp f****/*/*/*/cked up httpd.conf and i had to rewrite it from an apache 2.14 apache conf file.  Then I tried to rre-add the php enabling lines, and it doesnt parse.

    I recently added a line:

ErrorDocument 403 "Screw Off, You Don't Belong Here!"

and now all my webpages return this (regardless of 200 or 403):

Internal Server Error - DEBUG: HTTP 1.1 500 ERROR INTERNAL SERVER ERROR, Unrecoverable BIN.
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

  5. frankly to ask for css ro js in my server

you have to go through quite a process :D

    mainsite/javeascript/base/requesturi *required* :)

    /js/etc/*.js

if you dont have the requesturi of the page asking for it, your request is denied.

    mainsite/cascading/style/sheet/s/base/host/requesturi/css/main/style.css

    I love base_rewrite!!!

    I have soemthing like .\css$ cascading/style/sheet/s/base/host/$requesturi$/css/mail/.\css$

  6. omfg help mee!!! my server is down cause php unexpectedly quit working.. I had to rewrite my apahce conf file and that screwed everythign up.

now when I add teh php lines to make it a MODULE it screws up and farts -,-.

WONT START APACHE.  I heard that if you start apache from some command line something you get the output of parsing the conf files/// how do I do this?

  7. the funny part is it ONLY does this if you give the submit button the "name" field or the "value" field.

    A submit button BAREBONE IS:

    <input type="submit">

this will show a standard button that says submit (and old browsers show a nice clickable rectangle with no text in it)

only if you have name="submit" or value="submit" will it pass ?submit or ?submit=submit to a POST or GET var.  I tried foreach on post to benchtest these and I got it says submit as a result only when name and value are given.

    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file.  It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    #
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding

    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.

    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path.  If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "@@ServerRoot@@" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "@@ServerRoot@@/logs/foo.log".
    #
    # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
    # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
    # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which Apache.exe is located
    # will be used by default.  It is recommended that you always supply
    # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths, however, to avoid
    # confusion.

    # This comment line, the first line of the script, consists of the symbols
    # pound (#) and exclamation (!) followed by the path of the program that
    # can execute this specific script.  For a perl script, with perl.exe in
    # the C:\Program Files\Perl directory, the shebang line should be:

       #!c:/program files/perl/perl

    # Note you _must_not_ indent the actual shebang line, and it must be the

    # However, Apache on Windows allows either the Unix behavior above, or can
    # use the Registry to match files by extention.  The command to execute

    # the Windows Explorer would use to handle double-clicking on a file.
    # These script actions can be configured from the Windows Explorer View menu,
    # 'Folder Options', and reviewing the 'File Types' tab.  Clicking the Edit
    # button allows you to modify the Actions, of which Apache 1.3 attempts to
    # perform the 'Open' Action, and failing that it will try the shebang line.
    # This behavior is subject to change in Apache release 2.0.

I know its not too smart to show your httpd.conf file, but ya.  I added these line sblow recently:

    # For PHP 5 do something like this:
    LoadModule php5_module "c:/php5/php5apache2.dll"
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .php3 .phps

    # configure the path to php.ini
    PHPIniDir "c:/php5"

It won't start apache now.. stops on httpd.conf...

before I put PHPINIDIR it worked fine, BUT it would not parse php files, displayed them as unknown mime or sometimes text/plain.

    WHAT DO I DO?

(PHP used to work and it suddenly my httpd.conf got corrupt so I had to redo the php module lines)
