  1. In austrilaia you can get a usb plugin for 30 bucks that gets every channel in Australia for free. It also has the ability to receive any channel in the world, if your ariel/dish is strong enough.

    Something like this could be modified to receive receptions from the internet instead of an ariel

    If something costs 30 bucks, it isn't free.  :P

  2. I find it a rather bad idea. Its far too easy to abuse in my opinion.

    Also, reputation is usually based on ones opinion about that person. Like personally, I'm gonna give CV a -1 reputation just because I felt like it and it would be interesting to get a reaction from him. Now, as far as his skills in helping goes minus his sarcasm? He should be getting +1.

  3. Ask someone at nasa.  You've got connections there.  I hear they are really smart.  They should know.

    dude are u some way saying that i made up about nasa or something? If so i wouldn mind proving my words. But just a sugestion being staff of a such a wonderful site and behaving like a kid gives bad name to the site. Learn to be polite to users ur behviour may some day cost u alot.

    Xcoderx, you never seem to be able to tell when someone is joking. CV is a jokester. He likes to be funny and sarcastic. It should be pretty obvious he was being sarcastic considering NASA and computer OSes have nothing in common.

  4. It is a dedicated server and it is $1.99 / month.

    They're using old Atari 2600s as their hardware though.

    Hell, just the electricity fee and internet alone would cost more than $ 1.99 / month. $1.99 a month is trivial. Oh and an old atari as opposed to a...new one?  :P

    Oh, and I didn't even realize the atari 2600 even had internet. +1 info.

  5. yea but i forgot to make backup

    Errm, so you edit the files all live, on the web server, like, as users are... using and stuff  :wtf:

    Lesson learned, edit offline (and preferably test offline too (WAMP,XAMPP)), saves all this hassle.

    That said, your site is still timing out. Cheap/free is not always the best method ;)

    Damn...

    I need it back up bad..

    im paying 1.25$/month with a 10%discount if ihelp advertise them

    It's a great deal cause it's a dedicated server, bcz only 2 other clients are on this one, LOL

    But still, there new and there doing good just wrong place wrong time i believ,e i know data center admin good he just said some ip's have to be reconfigured and etc :(

    I'm pretty sure there is going to be more than 2 other clients or there is something else in the fine print. No one can have a dedicated server that only costs 3.75$/month to keep around.

  6. Err...how slow can your upload be? Unless your scripts are enormous, 1 K/B a second should be fast enough to upload what you made in EasyPHP and then to your website?

    I'm just saying, you develop your code in EasyPHP and then bring it onto your website after that, so you can work when your site is down.

  7. I'm more wondering why you are waiting until 40 to get married...

    I gotta agree with this. Unless you have lots of $$$, you have no chance of marrying anyone somewhat young, and if that case is true, most likely you will just be divorced for half your money.  :P

    Although, dreamwest, I find you kinda hypocritical. You are saying how stupid people are for saying how "evil" asian females are when your last paragraph seems to be saying how "evil" western females are.

  8. The nuclear apocalypse happened, you are in your underground bunker which ofcourse has no windows and just walls to secure you.

    When the nukes explode, an earthquake happens near your bunker, collapsing the hallway to the outside world. You are now left alone in your nuclear bunker, windowless and hallless (Thats a fancy word, if it was one.).

    You now have minutes before you suffocate.

  9. Okay, well I was just being a /little/ bit sarcastic... :-\

    If you haven't gotten the hint from the rest of the people, annoying advertisments = less people, less people = less clicks, which is bad all around.

    Youtube has ads (introduced) and theyre not doing too bad.

    gamefaq.com has intro popup, so does tv.com

    .....so why would phpfreaks suffer an alternate fate.

    When I get redirected from the page I go to, first thing I do is ctrl + alt + del and then end task my browser.

    A pop-up/banner is hardly in the same league as redirecting.

    Also phpfreaks is not in the same league as those websites. Those websites are all ranked (Or close to it) over 1000. Phpfreaks is around 10000. Also, phpfreaks is growing and quite rapidly. Stunting the growth isn't the smartest idea.

  10. I think its a kinda homeless child thing.

    Here is a story of a poor homeless child. Here this poor child rests. He is lost in the world of code and approached a building known as "PHPFreaks". He enters and just wants to obtain the basics such as bread and water. Now of course a wealthy person is there and sees this poor sport, and decides to help him. The poor homeless child then asks a question on how to get food and whatnot and of course the wealthy person begins to show the child how to till the land.

    Now off to the land they are at, the child begins to struggle, failing several times before achieving his first victory. This man or men, called by their house title, PHPFreakers, go to the aid of this child everytime he is in need. Now slowly but surely, the child manages to accomplish on his own, feeling pride and accomplishment. He continues to till the land several more times until he is experienced enough on his own and that one day, he himself can go back to PHPFreaks and help someone who was like him.

    I could have extended the story several more paragraphs but I see what happens to CV posts that have over a few thousand characters but if you guys would want me to extend the epic... ;)

  11. Could we also have a pop-up where you go on the phpfreaks site and then when you close it away, you get another pop-up!!!  ;D And even when you close that, it does it just one more time!!!

    Yeah if one was greedy one could do it -> but its a little extreme

    Or maybe a banner under every 2 posts in the forum as well?

    Yes i would suggest something like that as well, but under the second post of EACH page :D

    Dreamwest, if we work together, we could possibly think of a million and 1 ways to make phpfreaks turn into a billion-dollar corporation!

    Now that would be fun :P

    But overall it wouldnt bother me one bit that phpfreaks was raking in the big bucks, i would consider it good buisiness practice and would be happy for them

    Okay, well I was just being a /little/ bit sarcastic... :-\

    If you haven't gotten the hint from the rest of the people, annoying advertisments = less people, less people = less clicks, which is bad all around.

  12. Oh sweet! I love that idea!  :D

    Could we also have a pop-up where you go on the phpfreaks site and then when you close it away, you get another pop-up!!!  ;D And even when you close that, it does it just one more time!!!

    Think about it! This is what dreamwests suggests in money scale except 3x the amount of money!!!  :smoker:

    Or maybe a banner under every 2 posts in the forum as well?

    Or maybe if someone breaks a rule they have to click a banner or get suspended from the site!

    Dreamwest, if we work together, we could possibly think of a million and 1 ways to make phpfreaks turn into a billion-dollar corporation!

  13. all apologies - I didn't see the comment in the line code... - my bad.

    ngreenwood picked up the missing brace on the if...

    I wasn't talking about the ")" which is one thing, but I just meant the "{" and "}" on the if. What does the "if" even do if there is no "{" and "}"?

    EDIT: Err nevermind.

  14.  if($ul == "owner"){
    if (strip_tags($_POST['submit'])
    ///////////////////// Line 158 is The One BELOW This //////////////////////////////////
    mysql_query("INSERT INTO `pmessages` ( `id` , `title` , `from` , `message` , `date` , `unread` )
    VALUES (
    '', 'Profile Comment', '$username', '$msg', '$date', 'unread'
    )");
    echo ("<font color='black'>Comment Sent To $username!");
    }

    Either I learned something or I see one thing you are doing wrong.  At "if (strip_tags($_POST['submit'])" there is no "{". Now I could be wrong, but whats the point of an "if" if there is no "{"?

  15. Simple

    I had this issue in one of my websites (but with a different code), the problem was in the host computers. Every time I removed it it came back and I tried everything but nothing worked. After 4 months I changed my cpanel password to a very complex one, and then problem solved :).

    I don't quite understand that. Why would it matter the password? Either way your server provider knows the password so how would it prevent them or the hacker of the server to modifiy your file pages?

  16. Well, looks like we won't be getting an update at this board so...

    Assuming Person B does copyright Person As material and has the papers and whatnot of saying that Person B made it (When infact he didn't), could Person B sue Person A or could he just ask Person A to take down the image and if he doesn't, then sue?

  17. Well, technically speaking Person B couldn't prove it either, meaning Person B couldn't stop you from using the image.

    I wonder how often that really happens... I'm sure you could think of some clever way to prove that you created something first for under $35.  No idea how though.

    What prevents Person B from copyrighting the image himself? He now has proof he created it (Well, he didn't actually create it though, but he is a thief), so now he can claim as the original and in that case he could stop person A, right?

    @ Daniel, hopefully you can find it. Thanks for searching.
