The Little Guy
Anyone know the steps in ways I could open an online music store to legally sell music downloads? What would I need to do to make it legal, not how to make the store. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/107238-selling-music/ Share on other sites
.josh
I think you'd have better luck talking to a lawyer, don't you? Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/107238-selling-music/#findComment-549856 Share on other sites

Daniel0
Well... what does Apple do to sell music? No offense, but I find it rather strange when people have a question like "What did company X do to do Y?" and then decide to ask us instead of the company. zq29
If you own the copyright to the music or legal rights to sell someone elses music, you shouldn't need anything... Should you? .josh
Well, kinda depends. You might need all the standard stuff any other businesses need, like a business licence, tax id, etc.. but this is the internet, so idk. I'm not a lawyer so I couldn't tell you for sure. Hence my first post: I think you'd have better luck talking to a lawyer, don't you? TheFilmGod
There are websites that provide such services. I remember one time reading on a website where you would be in charge of keeping track of all the music/songs bought/played and pay accordingly afterwards. This should only be a short term solution, as you would be a reseller, and having to pay the "middle man." Yeah, I found 2 of those: http://www.bmi.com/ http://www.ascap.com/index.html But, that isn't really the direction I was hoping on going with this, but if it is the only way that I can find, then maybe that is where I would have to start out.
