The most annoying IE6 bug EVER. (code comments adding whitespace)

I'm a web developer and work with CSS, PHP, and XHTML all day, everyday. Normally I am able to use the vast amount of resources available on Google to find fixes to browser specific bugs, however, not today.

IE6 is inserting extra whitespace throughout my website on various pages. I've narrowed the problem down to code comments such as:

	<!-- Begin Index Top -->
<div id="indexTop">
	<!-- Begin Index Top Left -->
	<div id="indexTopText">

I need these comments in my code as it makes things easier for myself and my team when editing the same files (big surprise).

Can anyone think of a solution to get around IE6 randomly inserting whitespace in the layout due to code commenting?

It has been 2 straight days and still nothing. I'm really hoping someone has a clue because I'm stumped.

Thanks...

Saying thank you in this situation literally is not enough.

Enough for me. But support for this site is always welcomed - http://www.phpfreaks.com/page/donations

I wish more people would be like this in the world, and not the materialistic greedy people who only care about money .  ;)

Film god...

There are LOTS of people who will help others through out this wonderful planet.  If you'd like to know how to find them simply enter my lottery based in Ghana...

You will be able to claim the entire contents of a recently deceased wealthy individual - all you need to do is give me your bank details, driving license number and passport number.  On completion I shall send you a list of email addresses of wonderful people just like me and AndyB
