smctainsh
Hi, I'm new to this forum, so my apologies if I've posted this in the wrong board. I'm working a project called Transit, which is a PHP script that lists files on a server, allowing the user to navigate between folders using an AJAX interface. In addition, the user can preview images, edit certain files, and share files with others (which are emailed to the recipient in the form of attachments). I'd appreciate any feedback on the website, as well as the script itself. I've set up a sample installation which you can log into using the user name and password 'demo'. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Smctainsh
s_ff_da_b_ff
I dont have time to completely critique it but later I will. On first glance it look really cool. Like the layout alot.
Daniel0
I like the layout. Here are some observations I made while using it: - Icon view doesn't retain image proportions - After uploading and browsing in details view it will auto-switch to icon view. Same goes for other dialogs (e.g. delete confirmation). Also, the drop down list doesn't update to icon instead of details so you will have to switch twice in order to get back to details view. - When trying to create a folder with the name phpfreaks I get this error: "The folder name must not contain any of the following characters: /, \, :, *, ?, ", <, >, |" - Pressing enter in forms in dialogs doesn't submit the form. - You cannot rename files. unsider
I'm very impressed by the demo, and I experienced the same errors Daniel did as well, but it seems well put together. Good job. I'm still trying to work out my opinion on the site itself, so I'll get back to you on that. Otherwise It's looking great, you could potientally have a nice little buisness on your hands. john010117
Very nice design, first of all. I have a couple of suggestions. For that nav to work effectively as tabs (as I'm assuming you are), I think it'll be best if you specified where the user is in terms of the tabs. For example, if I'm at the homepage, the tab "Home" should be highlighted. That's my only complaint so far. Again, nice job!

Daniel0: Thanks for the feedback and for pointing out those bugs. I will definitely work on sorting these bugs out. unsider: Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. john010117: The suggestion about the navigation tabs has been noted and I will most certainly add it to the site. Thanks for pointing it out. Again, thank you to everyone who has replied so far. Smctainsh
