Asking for scripts

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have a new experience today as a webdesigner. A client ask me to show the php scripts I made for his website. He doesn't understand PHP, so he will show this to his friend, which is a programmer. The reason is he wants just to check my script whethe it's good. And so far the website is working properly.

Is that a common request?

Thank you,

ayok

Usually clients don't really care as long as it works and looks good.  If he's just interested on learning some PHP go ahead, and if his programmer buddy wants to take a look at your script, go ahead.  If you wrote it properly than you have nothing to worry about, I hope you used W3 standards!

nah ive had this happen with a few content systems ive had to build and as said if you followed the standards and it works your fine.. if you slapped something up really fast  they might have some comments for you..

although if he owns the host and its live on his account then shouldnt his programmer friend be able to log into it download and view your script anyways..

unless you offer no access to any ftp  and its your server really you dont have a choice

Thank you guys.. I was really pissed off, and almost cut off the business. But he actually likes my works so far from the result.

I don't understand why he would like to see it.

My mistake is that he hasn't paid yet... I even charged him with a low rate. I didn't realize that it was the reason why I was so upset. Thanks. Next time I'll ask the payment first.
