Which distribution is best for a small business file and print server.

I need some tips for which is the best distribution for a small business file and print server. I've been considering Ubuntu Server 8.10. This will only be used as a file and print server with Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 computers connecting remotely. The specs of the server are unknown, as I have not built it yet.

I would say the distro doesn't really matter, but I'm sure someone will have reasons for one over another.

First off, I would say not Ubuntu.  Well, if you do go with Ubuntu, make sure to either get the stripped down version (without Gnome running on boot by default mainly), or just strip it down your self.  Unless you want a GUI, of course.

Pretty much any of the main distros should do fine, and have around the same performance, but I could be wrong.

You may want to think about getting a distro that will have longer support, such as Ubuntu LTS (long term support) 8.04.  It will be supported until 2013, since it was released last year.  The install is basic, no GUI, but you can select a Samba server, web server, etc.
