tibberous
What do you think? jdwaterproofing.com Just looking for design critique - not worried about xhtml / css / coding standards. cags
The Contact Us form seems a little plain and the town names could (IMO) do with being a bit closer to the heading on the services page. I'd also probably say the same about the body text and the video on the same page. Other than that it's not bad, I quite like the overall design. JonnoTheDev
I dont like that video on the pages. It looks like its just floating and not meant to be there. Also it takes a little while to load at which point the user would become bored and click off. the gallery layout is naff. Needs spicing with some text i.e a snippet description under each photo. Also the firm is JD waterproofing right. What has a background picture of a living room with a pool table got to do with waterproofing or mold removal or foundation repairs. I though when I landed on the site it was a furniture company. A good website immidiately gives the user an understanding of what it is about when they land on it, i.e the products or services offered. You dont get this at all. Then you click on the gallery page and it is a bunch of images of buckets or a ceiling that needs plastering - it means nothing to me. If you take a look at this site http://www.wetfix.com.au I have to admit that the design isn't great but as soon as I land on it I know what this company is about. I can see straight away from the image in the header and then the big title underneath. darkraider
I agree with above post about video placement. not going to get into deep but design element arrangement is not the best. You've created trapped spaces Interactive priority is out of place Information presentation order is "broken" You need to learn design-layout rules or hire a professional (with degree). Self teaching is quite possible if you have a art/design background/talent. you could start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Page_layout one more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canons_of_page_construction GL and overall illusion- not bad Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/183932-jd-finished/#findComment-972493 Share on other sites
