detestableguy
My question is, what do I need to learn about wordpress to call myself a wordpress expert?
scootstah
Knowing how the internal clusterfuck of function calling works from memory.

Philip
Yeah, I had to work on a few plugins for a client... So much spaghetti code, functions that are hidden / not documented and those that are some are deprecated. Le sigh.
scootstah
I know... I try to hate it, but the things it does to URL routing is just too awesome.
KevinM1
I'm currently making a new WP theme for a client. It's my first time working with WP in any capacity. I'm left wishing I didn't pop my WP cherry. It sucks, and 'The Loop' is moronic.
Philip
I know... I try to hate it, but the things it does to URL routing is just too awesome. IMO it is nothing special. I'm currently making a new WP theme for a client. I'm so, so, so sorry.

It's not revolutionary, but it's pretty much my only positive thought about Wordpress. It's obvious that elegant code isn't what makes things popular lol. Philip
Well, to be fair the front-end makes it to where most people with limited computer knowledge can update a website - which is why it is so popular.

So does practically every CMS ever made.
