How to secure my notepad?

Hi, I have a 8.5" x 11" notepad, something that's standard.  What I'd like to do is be able to do is to lock it in some cover that would make it *extremely* difficult for others to read what I have written.  Is there such a product?  I don't want to put it in a safe every time, but a small password would be ideal.

I don't think any small locking device that is made for a notebook would be very secure. For instance, those little portable safes can easily be opened by dropping it or smashing the lock with a hammer.

Is it possible to put the contents on a tablet or laptop and use encryption?

My first thought was to just write differently - for example when I was in high school and my friends and I passed notes we did a simple letter rotation encryption, and after a few times it becomes super easy to do in your head. We also made up our own letters and words. It's not the most secure but it would stop most people from even bothering, and if they did bother it would take them longer and maybe by then you'd catch them doing it?

Eventually, yes, but when I wake up and have lucid dreams and wish to write them down, going to the computer, opening the correct file and then writing there, would take too damn long and I could forget details.  Hence my question.  A key would probably work best, since I could have it around me all of the time.
