There ya go. This was the last PHP book I read. First published in 2005 which is when I read it, I remember waiting for it to be released.

I wouldn't recommend it as a "learn PHP" book though.

Do you remember your first PHP book?

This was mine http://eu.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-0764543644.html

Can't believe it was 14 years ago, only seems like last week I was reading this!

Mine was actually the beginning php5 version of that same book I believe. Even some of the authors look familiar.

I've never used php4. Before php I was working with Python, and before that, asp (vbscript).

I read a lot of good reviews of Larry Ullman's book from beginners. I didn't read them myself, but if you check them on amazon, you'll see that the reviews are mostly postiives one.

And, if you want to learn to code better, I highly recommend "clean code". It's not a PHP book, but you'll learn a lot from it. Every developer should have to read it before coding anything IMO ;)

Larry Ullman's material is good. I am going through his Yii book at the minute.
