fert
wouldn't hitting the PrtSrc button be easier? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/30718-instant-website-screenshot/#findComment-141579 Share on other sites
lucasl
Well, yes, but for something automated like a website directory, its much easier. Daniel0
Hmm... doesn't work.
http://www.m-software.de/screenshot/Screenshot.png?url=http%3A%2F%2Fphpfreaks.com&scale=3&width=1600&height=1200
should give a pretty big screenshot, but it's just a small one: Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/30718-instant-website-screenshot/#findComment-141606 Share on other sites
Danny Beckett
Still, a pretty cool tool. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/30718-instant-website-screenshot/#findComment-142399 Share on other sites
redbullmarky
fert, ctrl+alt+prtscr wouldnt necessarily be easier. consider a portfolio where you just want a snap of a website, not all the windows, etc, around it which you'd have to open in graphics editor, trim down, etc. i've seen it asked loads of times around here if it's possible to take a snapshot of a website (like Alexa, etc) so tools like this are well useful.I ran it through a translator to see if the source is available, but with no joy. if anyone can tell me any different though...I'd be a taker. tcollie
Here's another link for you to look at. He doesn't provide the source, but he provides an API so you can run the service through own site.http://bluga.net/webthumb/index.php Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/30718-instant-website-screenshot/#findComment-152633 Share on other sites
keeB
I could think of a makeshift way of doing it with an external application, which is definitely how it could be done, and using PHP to execute it.Maybe I'll design something like it ;) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/30718-instant-website-screenshot/#findComment-152728 Share on other sites
webwriter
I tried to get a script like this written through scriptlance, but the guy built it using Windows and Java so it was pretty useless for me. If anyone does get a automated thumbnail script working, I'd be happy to pay you for it. kenrbnsn
I just tried their service. Even though it's in Javascript, I find it very interesting.Ken Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/30718-instant-website-screenshot/#findComment-154018 Share on other sites
